Welcome to the Artists Corner!

Here you can meet some of the other local artists that I’ve met/worked with and have plans on collaborating with in the future. I think as creative spirits, we should bring something positive to each other’s space, not take away from it.

If you or someone you know would like to be listed, please contact us!

Jewelry Artists

Abigail Bray / Jewelry Creations by Abigail

Abbie is a Washington, DC, area based artist who I’ve known for 20+ years. It wasn’t until recently that I discovered she was also a jewelry designer. We combined efforts for my D’aina’s Fight Collection, where she graciously donated some of her beautiful jewelry for the cause (fighting Breast Cancer). More on that effort & her beautiful designs HERE.

Her style: Classy artesian with a touch of antique flair.

In her own words: “I've always loved beads.  In college, I started making jewelry, but lacked the funds to really pursue it as a career.  I picked up jewelry making again before I got married by making bracelets for my mother and two bridesmaids to wear the day of my wedding.  Afterward, I made jewelry pieces every now and then to present as gifts to a few of my friends. My friends liked my jewelry so much, they showed their friends...AND THE REST IS HISTORY.”

Heather Dozier /  Myracle by Heather Jewelry Designs

I recently met Heather at Wal*Mart, in the bead aisle looking at pearls (her passion!). She commented on a piece that I was wearing…and it was all uphill from there! We exchanged information, and within days, we were in touch, trying to figure out how to collaborate and work together. She’s a relative newby – has only been at this since November of 2008, but she is dedicated, and creative, and just an all-around nice person.

Her style: Classic with a bit of Funk.

In her own words: “After always going out spending money on different styles of fashion jewelry and accessories... I accumulated so many necklaces, bracelets and earrings that alot of them would get tangled and twisted up. I would have to take them apart one by one… A couple of them I just broke in half and said: I can make my own jewelry…”

Clothing Artists

Tracey Hale Matthews / Midnight Sensations by TeeJay

Tracey is a Washington DC area based seamstress and dear sister-friend. She has a niche for seeing a style, and being able to craft it out of thin air!  Where did the name come from? That’s easy! Her best work is done after midnight…into the wee hours of the morning!

Her Style:
Out side of the fashion box

In her own words:
“Midnight Sensations is the manifestation of a creative soul that enjoys dressing outside the box, with emphasis on quality construction, fit, and individual appeal for clients of all sizes and budgets.”

Visual Artists

LeKiah Wills / Events-Ualities (Special Event Planning Company)

Kiah is a Washington, DC area based “Eventiste”. I’ve known her for roughly 7 years now. We had lost touch, and recently reconnected on Facebook. It was then I learned of her business – Events-Ualities.

Her Style:
Personal.

I adore uniqueness and creativity. My style leans towards sophisticated, eclectic and modern. I have always gone off what I like and not solely what is currently hot. I’ve never considered myself a follower. If you are planning a wedding or event and would like something personal and special, please contact me.

In her own words: “I realize that being an Event Planner encompasses much more than playing with pretty flowers and beautiful table linens. I am committed to high standards of professional excellence and run a legitimate, ethical business.”

Tiara BonanoChanel’s Decadence (Sinfully Delicious Cakes)

Tiara is a Bronx babe (and soon-to-be beautiful bride) transplanted in the Washington, DC area (Columbia, MD, …to be exact). I met her via her Fiance’ that works at my office building. Her spirit is welcoming & friendly, and this new-found networking connection is sure to spark more in the future!

Her Style: Versatile.

In her own words:my homemade cakes and buttercream icing are made with love. I use the finest ingredients and I am not satisfied unless you, the customer, are thoroughly satisfied. I have been baking since I was a little girl. It's what I love to do. There's nothing like trying out a new recipe and coming up with new decorating ideas. Enjoy all of the sinfully savory treats I have to offer. I promise they will keep you coming back for more!”
