To prevent/delay the natural oxidation* process and keep your GGX Jewels looking their best, AVOID:

·        solvents & harsh chemicals

·        excessive exposure to water

·        oils & lotions, when possible

This can damage the metal wire, semi-precious/precious gemstones and pearls.

To assist with this, each GGX order you place will come in an air-tight baggie (a piece of anti-tarnish paper can be provided at your request) . This will help prevent tarnish and oxidation*. (The anti-tarnish paper is safe, non corrosive, non abrasive, non toxic and will not affect any of your jewelry. Place it in your jewelry box, etc., unless you decide to store your jewelry in the air-tight baggies provided with your purchase)

Following these simple guidelines will GREATLY extend the life of your jewelry!

*Oxidation is the natural process of the breakdown of a metal over time as a result of exposure to Oxygen, oils in your skin, and other natural elements. This causes metal wire jewelry (including copper, Sterling Silver, and Gold) to become discolored and/or tarnish.

MATERIALS

GGX Jewels takes pride in all of it's creations, and therefore in the supplies that we use. We special order [most of] our wire from an online supplier, and also frequent various local specialty bead stores (Beads LTD, The Potomac Bead Company) as well as local retail chains. We work with regular artistic wire, special NON-tarnish silver & gold plate, .925 Sterling & 10kt gold filled. Generally, our findings & accents are silver/gold plate, but can do Sterling silver and 10kt findings & earwires for sensitive skin at your request.*

A vast majority of our pieces are made with high-quality NON-TARNISH silver/gold plated wire & .925 Sterling Silver wire. However, on occasion, we also use base metal/copper based artistic wire (when specified). With the exception of the non-tarnish wire, these metals can tarnish and/or become dis-colored due to exposure to the air and contact with sulphur compounds in the atmosphere.  If for ANY reason at all you are unsatisfied with your purchase, please allow us to rectify the problem.
